Small Business Marketing – Message, Market and Media

Musselwhite Marketing is an advocate of small business marketing!  We’re constantly looking for great content, ideas, and strategies for entrepreneurs and small business owners.  A couple of our favorite contributors to small business marketing are world-renowned marketing gurus, Dan Kennedy and Bill Glazer and their Glazer-Kennedy Insider’s Circle (GKIC) communities.

Ultimate-Marketing-PlanIn Dan Kennedy’s book “The Ultimate Marketing Plan”, he gets right to the point that if you’re an entrepreneur small business owner you don’t have the luxury or the resources of a big budget marketing team.  You need to be so deliberate and intentional in your marketing that you do not miss good opportunities or make too many bad decision(s).  Your goal must be to squeeze every drop of profit from every dollar spent on marketing.

To help you determine if your marketing has a firm foundation we’ve compiled a list of questions you should use to evaluate the elementary merits of your current marketing plan and strategy.

  • Have you created your annual marketing calendar to stay on track and consistent?
  • Is your marketing message powerful, persuasive, and compelling?
  • Are you interacting in the online communities (Facebook, YouTube, G+, LinkedIn, etc…) where your best prospects are hanging out?
  • Are your best prospects converting or just visiting?
  • Are you consistently measuring the return of your marketing investment?  Numbers don’t lie.

To achieve success in small business marketing, you must get the right message to the right people (our target market) using the right media and methods as effectively, efficiently, and profitably as possible.  Marketing is really about motivating people to action, often into doing something they would not do purely of their own initiative.

If you’re a business owner, sales and marketing professional, entrepreneur, or professional practice owner, you can learn how to sell more and market your business better by joining a local GKIC Chapter.  We’re part of two GKIC Chapters and we can confidently say that attending these groups makes us sharper in the marketing of our clients business and our own marketing business.

As the Small Business Marketing Advocate team, our primary objective is to equip you with solid, fundamental, best practices that reliably move your business forward.  Call us at (951) 291-1774 or send us an email (contact@MusselwhiteMarketing.com) if you have any questions or comments about Entrepreneur and Small Business Marketing.  We like to hear from you.
